Sparkling Daejeon : Hanbat Arboretum

November 21, 2010 on cold Sunday, some of Indonesian friends and I did not have things to do this day. And, I came up with idea to experience our Daejeoon, we went to other cities but we have not taken a trip in the city where we lived in. Then without planning anything, we had breakfast took our jackets also cameras and the map we had, then we left for Hanbat Arboretum, 111 Dusandaero, Seo-gu.

That day was late of autumn and the scenery was awesome, the trees re brown no every plant almost all in brown. Then, with this condition we played around Daejeon city, we took subway, then walked, no actually I preferred to walk because the weather was chilly and the air was refreshing. I wished I had bicycle that time hahaha. Soon we arrived, we walked more than 500 meters from the the National Government Complex Station ‘the station where we stopped from Daedong Station’.  Generally, every season is different, so Hanbat Arboretum has 4 different looks along the year, because it was autumn so the scenery was like this picture below : Read the rest of this entry »

Amazed by the technique of knitting

“Creativity is another word to explain intelligence”

I saw a friend was knitting something, and I ask her to teach me how to knit. Soon, I found out many videos on youtube that explain clearly step by step about knitting. It does not look simple, it’s actually difficult but when you find something is interesting you finally could say it’s easy :D , that’s how I feel, but still I need to watch the video while making one haha.

Just by looking the yarn I was amazed that there re so many types of them, color combination, thick – thin, single color, etc. Yet, the material is not kidding, they are expensive tho, that’s why knitted products are expensive due to the price of material, how difficult it is to make and how long it takes to make.

After I bought several material, I made my HDD external pouch with pale purple yarn, stilll lack of skill, yet this is the picture of my first try :

Right after I finished this one I had another idea to make a pouch for my ipod nano, yeap I tried different pattern and different technique and I produce this one :

So much to learn !

Welkom ! Welkom !

Here it is, I involved in a project about HIV/AIDS collaborating AIESEC (UI and BINUS) and Unilever. It started on Feb 13 and finished on March 19 (5 weeks). Unexpectedly because some reasons, the preparation was almost 6 months, that’s long and hard to coordinate actually but well, thanks to all the organizing committees and people who got involved did the best to run this project : IndonesiaBisa STOP HIV/AIDS Project.

Overall, the project was great, well prepared, hectic, tired, well delivered, impactful, influenced, meaningful,  concluded : awesome !

There are eight External Participants who are coming from Netherlands, China, Philippine, Brazil, Japan, and Pakistan. So, it’s new friends new network new knowledge and new experience. Externally, in this project we tried to spread news about HIV/AIDS and build awareness in society especially to young people because according to the information from NGO, the most people get infected by HIV is at the age range 15 – 19. It is so crucial if the young people don’t have awareness about this knowledge and don’t even have healthy life, that’s the aim of this project. Our activities were to approach several high school, did the presentation about the basic knowledge about HIV/AIDS, and also taught the high schoolers to make a project about it that could spread the information and awareness to other friends in the school. Some schools made videos and post it on facebook or in youtube, there is also a school made a talk show, another made magazine wall and so on.

Interestingly, we picked the best project among those schools to be a first winner, second winner and lastly third winner. We prepared prizes for the winners while EPs prepared small gifts which would be given to each student. Read the rest of this entry »

Fail is just a word !

Refer to what I felt recently, I was down about everything I have.  If there is a sentence about ”Don’t let failure gets you down”, it is actually hurting me to think about that, and also that time being was really hard to accept that what I really strived to achieve finally failed. I was so sad and tired of thinking about what I had done which made me in this kind of frustration because of that failure things. I keep trying to say ‘I am strong woman’ but still the way I feel about that made me about to cry, hhmm no, made me crying just without any reason.

Those time was awful that I just want to run from this life, but I finally came to think that God knows the best, just keep trying and keep praying.  So many things happened and God shows what the fact is, ‘there are another plan prepared beyond those plans which failed’. My believe came back, believe I will have another chance and belive there are lots of opportunities waiting.

I remember I have dreams to be achieved and I strive for that so good luck !

Fabulous week ends 2011. (Part 1)

We had been planning to get together after our memorable times in Korea, “SolBridgers Fall 2010″.But, as we understood that our schedule didn’t match each other. But we made a quick plan and soon bought our ticket to Surabaya (old times : Soe-roe-bo-yo), a city where Edbert, Edward and Septian are living.

Holiday was only 10 days that’s why I needed to finish my own things before going anywhere,  on Dec 27 at 07.40 with Citilink Airline we flew to Surabaya. Question, why did it delay about 30 minutes when we were sitting already in cabin? Answer : there was a document left inside the waiting room so the passenger asked the permission to take it before taking off.

A blessed year , Welcome 2012 !

Happy New Year !

Gladly saying that last year, 2011, is one of my sophisticated year in my life. Having another way of thinking or I can say I nearly realize that I became more mature because of age 20. Having another thought about friendship,  family and also love. That year is about to give me a big touch,

Friendship is not about you like the one and become friends, and you don’t like the one and you don’t wanna be friends. Friendship is about helping, understand, and respect each other. That came to mind and finally I got many friends, enemies turned to friends and friends turned to closer friends.

Family, this brother-sister relationship is more like friendship, my brothers are my soulmate. This is also because of my turning age into 20 that I feel brothers are the best men I have beside my Father in the world.

Love, sometimes I feel this kinda thing would never come to my mind seriously. But, the edge of my brain finally succeeded to bring up some matters about love. At least I know this heart will be pointing at someone. Ah, sweet !

WELCOME 2012. This year will be another year to chase our dreams !

With map I brought, we found a way to Busan Tower from here, It was perfect because we arrived at night so we can see the whole Busan city with colorful light from the top of the tower. We paid 7000 won (around Rp 56.000) each person and went up using elevator. Right, and guess what I found? I found Monas picture hanged on the wall inside the tower, there were lots of tower pictures from other countries also.

Visiting Busan ! (part 1)

Hello Autumn !,

So, next schedule is going to Busan in two days and one night. We found a guest house named ‘Indy House’ – you can search on Mr.Google. Well, we booked the room via internet, the guest house was surprisingly friendly and comfortable, it actually a small apartment with some rooms and they offer 3 kinds of room which are single, double and dorm-room. They provide computer and internet, serve meals by ourselves in the kitchen, the most important was we could meet another group of foreign people who were currently traveling in Busan also staying in this house for few days. Ah ya, Indy House was located near Kyungsung University & Pukyong university in Busan, and fortunately I could meet my friends who is studying in this university. NICE !

Inside the Indy House

November 13, 2010 with KTX – 07.20 am tickets on our hands, we tried to wake up early in the morning and soon went to Daejeon Yeok. We arrived in Busan Yeok after two hours trip, we went to Indy House put our things and started our journey in Busan by having breakfast in McDonalds near that house.

First, we went to Taejongdae area, took Taejongdae Excursion Ship Marina through Pebble Beach which has big rocks around then through Taejongdae Observatory and finally stopped by at Sinseon Rocks then we walked up till Yeongdo Marine Cultural Space, by seeing the blue sea with strong wave I missed Indonesia at that time and started thinking that Indonesia has more than this :D . Anyway, as long as we walked we took pictures as well.

Going to Lotte World : Largest Theme Park

One of our weekend in Autumn Season was filled by playing in Lotte World. I remember it was a year ago, November 6, 2010. Although it’s school trip, we needed to pay 20.000 won (Rp 160.000), it was quite cheap because it’s included transportation from Daejeon to Seoul and the fee to enter Lotte World and play all the games.

Lotte World is the world’s largest indoor theme park, and one of Seoul’s main theme park and its attracts about 8 million visitors annually. The park is divided into an indoor and outdoor linked by a monorail. The indoor includes the ‘Adventure Land’ with acres of streets representing different countries and are filled with hundreds of activities, entertainments, shops, restaurants and ongoing parades. There is also an ice-rink and a fascinating Folk Museum complete with miniature villages.

Lotte World is like a small city with an amusement park, folk museum, sports center, skating rink, water slide park, shopping center and the hotel. Lotte Department Store is one of Korea’s leading department store. The shopping center with dozens of small specialty shops surrounds a large, open central area that has a large food court. Lotte World is one of favourite Theme park Tourist destination besides Everland and Waterpia.

An indoor theme park connected with Lotte Hotel and Lotte Department Store, Lotte World is the Korean recreation center most frequently visited by foreigners. Lotte World consists of the indoor amusement park “Adventure” and an outdoor one as well, dubbed “Magic Island.” The outdoor Magic Island has numerous, thrill-packed attractions. Even the castle itself is an awesome background for photographs. At the indoor facility, “Adventure,” actually there are World Carnival Parade and Cosmos Circus Laser which are particularly eye-catching said my Korean friends, But I did not have a chance to see both of the Parades.
